I haven't had this problem when working on my AD's, since usually only have a handful of sockets out, all SAE from 3/8 to 3/4 and can be easily id'd without looking at size. Some of my recent wrenching projects have been both SAE and Metric so have a dozen sockets on the bench and taking too much time to read the fine print as to size. Take a sharpie and write in BIG print the size on the side, then you can easily ID from a distance.
