#11385 10/03/2002 8:39 PM | Joined: Oct 2002 Posts: 29 Junior Member | | Junior Member Joined: Oct 2002 Posts: 29 | I just bought a 5 speed borg warner overdrive manual transmission for my 63 chevy pickup which already has a 230 six & 3 on the tree trans. The old 3 speed trans. has a 10 spline input shaft; the new one (out of an '85 s-10 pickup)has a 14 spline one. The newer trans. will bolt right up to my bellhousing, I only have to replace my clutch to make it work. Has anyone ever done this swap before? Can I use the clutch disc and throw-out-bearing for the s-10 trans. along with my pressure plate for my 3 speed trans. I already have?
