That scares me- - - -try bolting a piece of 3/8" X 2" flat stock to the upper holes and extending the upper mounting arms out a couple of inches past the block for a more stable footprint for the stand adapter. You'll need to stack up a few flat washers between the lower arms and the block to keep everything leveled out.
