My truck has been running great for the past three years with no trouble at all. Today, though, I removed the oil bath air cleaner and cleaned it and put fresh oil in it. After I installed the filter I noticed that the truck idles much lower than it ever did before. Sometimes while sitting at a stop light it seems like it wants to stall out. I've checked for vacuum leaks around the carb, tightened all nuts and bolts around the intake/exhaust manifold and the carb. I found a few loose ones, which I tightened, but the problem is still there. I do notice that if I apply pressure to the air cleaner with my hand (like push it to the left or the right), it affects how the engine idles. I haven't checked the accelerator linkage very closely yet but I'll be doing that tomorrow. Could there be any connection between my removing the filter and then reinstalling it and my current problem? That's when the low idle thing started. Haven't tried shooting Gumout or similar around the carb and manifold yet but will do that tomorrow to see if I can find a leak.
