Can you post a link to a photo of the GM clip?

Restoration Specialties might have it - listed in their GM section.

My 1954 clips do/did not look like the one posted by Mike. Where/how did those clips attach to the frame?

The 216 and early 235 engines are not "splash oilers" -- this is a splash oiler.
