I don't have any experience with a 39-46 pickup so this may be a stupid suggestion. Is it not possible to unbolt the hinge from the door frame and the door and do the pin removal in a vice where you won't scorch the paint?? Is the hinge welded into the door frame and/or the door on older vehicles?
