In my old '36, I wanted a very durable bed - not just a fancy one - I used a marine plywood and cut indentations with my router for the stainless rails. Then I covered it with bed coating liner -added the rails --tough and durable -- that original yellowpine with black paint was definetely durable also :)Beck's
