BrJr51, you have layed out my favorite ways to do it. I have to say though, I have not done a restoration in a few years and the epoxy over bare metal, then any body fillers, then urethane primer is looking better and better to me.
Oldblue, most any name brand like PPG, DUPont, Sherwin Williams, etc. have good products. There is one particular problem though. Each of these top of the line brands (and most all others) have a low end "value line". You have to be sure you get what you pay for. PPG, has OMNI, DuPont has NASON, and so on. These low end products are "ok" with some being very good and others being junk. You have to be sure you are getting PPG, DuPont , etc. and not the low end lines.
