Though I never did it and I now are changing to "bear claw" type latches, I figured out a way to make the left door accept a lock. If you get one of the latches in your hands you can see that the part that "accepts" the lock cylinder actuator rod is there. The problem is it doesn't have a hole in it. I was going to pull the latch apart and make the hole in that piece and them mount a lock cylinder in the door, viola, outside locking drivers door.
