This is a problem I just had: I reassembled a 4 cyl tractor engine, had checked the fireing order over three times so I "knew" it was correct. Trouble is that the rotor was going different from the way I thought. I was lucky the engine started and ran on cyl 1 and 4. That gave me the chance to switch the 2,3 wire, and the engine ran fine.
