| | | | Joined: Jan 2001 Posts: 5,337 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2001 Posts: 5,337 | A 1953-54 car or truck balancers would be best, but an acceptable substitution is to use a 1955-62 truck balancer.
The 1955-62 truck balancer is designed for a ½” belt but may be used with a â…œ" belt. This will allow the belt to run deeper in the groove and in effect will reduce the diameter to very near the correct size.
The 1955-62 passenger balancer is also designed for a ⅜" belt, but because of the larger diameter there is a increased risk of the fan breaking from the high speed flexing.
