Changed out the heater core in my Deluxe heater this summer and
I used John's idea. A piece of 12" shelving and a horse of the
right height and it made working under the dash a whole bunch
more comfortable, almost took a nap on it when I was finished:

and cut a wider one that fits the whole width of the door
opening. Then I can roll around without fear of falling
off the edge.
