I have just recently bought a '51 3100 and I've been taking it apart while acquiring parts for the re-assembly. I am going to move the body with a nice patina (and dents and scrapes) to a new TCI chassis with an engine swap as well.
I now have the entire rolling chassis separated which appears to be generally complete and original including the brakes, steering, suspension, rear end, driveshaft, trans w/floor shifter and the brakes lines, cables, etc. plus the running board brackets and probably a bunch of other good parts.
There is a GMC straight 6 in the chassis that replaced the Chevy at some time. The starter, carb, and distributor cap and wires are gone but otherwise is complete. There are four wheels with decent tires.
Now what? I'm not sure if this is worth a little or a lot or what the best approach is to sell or dispose of it. I would greatly prefer that it be used vs. scrapped but I am new to these old trucks and just don't know the market.
I would be interested in trading - I could use running boards, a tailgate, a hood latch panel, etc.
Thoughts or suggestions on the best approach and what this might be worth?
