Hello OLD truck fans!
Having a bit of a problem with the generator in the wife's 54 3/4. Original 6V. Now I have heard that the generator doesn't charge the battery during idle, But I took this thing on a longer trip around town yesterday. 5-7 miles. VERY hot. The temp gauge was just a hair above the centerline, and the volts was just a hair above the centerline. When I stopped to get gas, I couldn't get it started.
It just wouldn't turn over. I finally got it started popping the clutch, and when I got home it wouldn't start again. I let it sit for 3 hours, then tried to start it. No juice?
Battery is new.
Commnents on where to start. I would like to possible go 12V, but am concidering the options.
