correct me if i am wrong, but doesn't a 55 235 have oil pressure verses babbit bearings? If so, why would you change and go down when all you should need to do is change the gearing in the rearend.
Please correct me if i am thinking wrong here.

I think he has a 235 to go IN the truck from the Biscayne.
But you're right... the problem is likely the rear end gearing.
