I'm looking to find the stock axel width on a 55 first series 3100. I have seen a few different measurements floating around but nothing to definitive. I measured about 62" from middle of one tire to middle of the other.
I have an opportunity to buy a ford 9" that measures 58" from backing plate to backing plate and I'm wondering if the difference can be offset with spacers or anything like that, or if I should pass on a great deal and find one a little wider.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
