Yeah Bill,aftermarket quality is a subject that comes up all too frequently,not just here but in many other marques forums.
I used to build VWs and frankly it wasn't much better.
You can see why many folks prefer NOS items where possible and consequently pay top dollar for them.
It seems to me some vendors are just a business out to make a few bucks rather than care about actual quality of fit and finish these days.
Sad but true.....
