According to the
1946 Chevrolet truck transmission Specifications page it looks like
All 1946 4 speed transmissions came with PTO.
The spec sheet does not indicate a lubrication capacity, for a 4 speed transmission without PTO.
So, if a person wanted find out the difference in lubrication capacity between a tranny with PTO and a one without.
You would have to find a tranny without PTO and fill it up and measure the difference.
Or, In 46 they offered 2, 4 speed trannys, one with PTO and one without, and there is no difference in lubrication capacities between the 2.
Or, 5 1/2 pints is sufficient for both.
