I can strip 1 square foot of flat sheet metal in 2 minutes with a poly carbide disc. The disc is $4.99 (less if you use a 20% off coupon). I can probably strip 30 square feet (outer surface of hood and 2 fenders) with one disc. Watch the direction of the disc when you come up to an edge or you can ruin the disc. I'm using an electric 4.5" Makita angle grinder.
