I have a 1946 with a 1956 235. Stock engine except Edmunds dual exhaust and HEI distributor.
I installed Dyna Mat on the firewall and floor. I also installed the insulation pad on the inside of the firewall and a floor mat. But the cab still gets hotter than expected.
Do the pans between the frame and oil pan help pull airflow through the radiator and continue under the cab? Would I be better off without the pans and get additional airflow from the bottom?
My first car a 1935 Buick had splash pans. My dad, a mechanic from before the war, the Big One, said their job was to keep water from splashing up into the engine compartment.
