I put a 1954 235 in a 1929 a few years back and here is what I used.
*1937-39 truck 3 speed. *1938-46 truck bellhousing. *1938-53 flywheel and clutch. *1936-46 big truck clutch/brake pivot mount. *modified 19 tooth speedo driven gear.
Your 1956 engine will have the longer lower water pump so that will need attention. I would recommend my water pump adapter for this problem.
