It looks like the GM "peanut" transmission that was used from 37 to 47 as mentioned above.. It was so little, they had trouble squeezing 3 speeds into it. I wonder where they squeezed in the 4th one. Or maybe its the one us old drivers referred to as "Georgia overdrive". It was right in the middle of the shift pattern, and them old trucks would really go on a long down hill grade.
