ok, so my 53 3100 has a 70's 7.5 gm 10 bolt in the rear and the previous owner (my late uncle) installed the 10 bolt and cut the 70's drum parking brake cables about 3' from the axle and just left them hanging. my question is I want to install a parking brake system and need to know what is my best option??? the original foot emergency brake is still in the cab. do I go full on replacement with some after market kit or try to hook up the 10 bolt system to the 53 system?
please give me some much needed advice, I am at a loss.
