On my 1956 I bought an accessory (2-1/2" I think) Volt Gauge for about $25. I took it apart and installed the new gauge in my original cluster. I even modified the face plate to fit so the hash marks and needle are still calibrated...looks good to me and wired right in with my new wiring harness. You might be able to do the same with your gauge cluster.
