Speedometer not working. Disconnected cable from Speedo end and observed no rotation of cable while driving. Replaced cable with new. Old cable was stiff and difficult to turn by hand. New cable did not resolve issue. Speedometer still does not function. Trying to decide my next step but I have a few questions first.

Are the 1947 truck speedo drive and driven gears made of plastic or metal?

There is a ratio adaptor installed by a previous owner, how likely is it that this is the issue?

Is there a step by step resource for replacing the gears?

Does anyone know a source for new gears?
