With the warmer weather I'm reving up to do some welding on my cab. I have a replacement firewall from another truck, but it looks like I will need new floor panels too. As I am dropping the cab onto a frame with a new small block V8 and 350 TH tranny I was wondering if anyone make replacements that would eliminate the transmission cover/plate in original AD trucks. I am going to a steering column shifter as well, so a smooth floor would be nice, though transmission clearance may be an issue.
What's your experience with this sort of job? I welcome any and all comments.
