Thank you all for the kind words and thoughts! I replaced the floats and now seem to have a far less flammable vehicle. Today my daughter and I finally broke down and pressure washed the truck and she looks beautiful! I will add photos when I have a bit more time. I just now got done giving it it's first oil change in 9 years.
I still have not exactly figured out what my plan for this truck is. My thoughts on it have evolved since it became mine. Originally, I wanted to restore it to it's original state, new paint and all, with just the engine being hopped up a bit. Now I am to the point that I want it to be just as grandpa had it, with the rear bumper he built left on it as well as the other things he added. I may just leave the paint, dents and everything but clean the engine up a bunch , add a split manifold and dual exhaust and some Offenhauser parts to pretty it all up.
