I am new to the discussion board, and have followed closely the topics on the 235's with much interest.
Will be pulling the engine from my 54'Vette that I recently purchsed and will begin restoration on. I believe the engine I have now is from a truck (#3739716 B-19-02). Anyways I want to "beef up" the old 6 a bit this winter when it is to be rebuilt - with an HEI system as a possible option. Problem is the distributor on the engine now is an aftermarket replacement. I need to find a distributor with a tach drive since that is what was origionally on the car.
Anyone know if there are 6 cly. HEI's with a tach drive? Don't mean to bellyache but WOW - can't believe what the "asking" price for a early vette tach drive distributor let alone the water pump, generator, starter. I know this 235 will serve me just fine....
