Lots of work on Brad's part ... pure enjoyment (and references) for you!

For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jun 2011 Posts: 291 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jun 2011 Posts: 291 | My painstaking education with a 55 235 continues. I got oil flowing through the tube down the side of the engine ( under the side cover) but the passage through the block is stopped up. The passage on the head is clear but something is wrong at the engine block. I was blowing air through it in both directions but air is barely moving through. Some type of debris must be in the passage. I removed the head bolt where the oil flows up and a coat hanger will go down through all the way to the turn. Any one have a diagram showing this oil passage so I can see what I am dealing with? I am going to try carb cleaner next to try to clear this path before I resort to bringing the oil tube out of the side cover and piping it into the hole on the head that has a pipe plug in it next to the oil passage. | | |
