Just looking for a few thoughts on Mig welding in a patch panel. I was piecing a rocker panel where there is no backside access...very careful with tacking, letting cool and then skipping around the weld slowly. Still have shrinkage, not bad but fill will be needed- just a light coat.

Is it worth trying to pull the weld bead back out to metal finish or is it even possible given the hardness of the weld? Should I just let it ride? What do the pros do in this situation?

I'm even wondering about hammering on the MIG bead - what about the potential for cracking?

Still learning....any thoughts appreciated.
