folks clip the frames cuz they think that's the only way to get the power steering and disc brakes they think they need, not to mention the plusher ride - they'd really prefer a car - the stock frame can handle anything you wanna put in it, and if you're worried about how well it'll stand up to high power, you can box it and add beefier motor/trans mounts - friend of mine has a
55 w/ a strong 427 and 4 speed in it [pulls the front wheels off the ground] and the stock frame has done well
