Ok, I am on a roll now with my hood for my 45 GMC 1/2 ton. I want to replace the center "piano" hinge that runs the length of the center of the hood. I have removed it from each half, disassembled it and have sandblasted down to bare metal. My concern is, that after it's painted, the metal to metal will rust, and will continue to bleed. Does anyone offer a replacment hinge in stainless?? Also, is there a better solution to the factory hood stays on either side?? If the wind catches the hood using the current setup, it lifts the hood and the hood comes crashing down.
Any suggestions?
