| | | Joined: Apr 2004 Posts: 375 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Apr 2004 Posts: 375 | Are you stripping by hand or are you hiring it done? If hiring it done; have it done with baking soda. The soda seems to protect the metal for awhile.
If you're doing it yourself, put metal prep on it. That seems to slow down the process too. An alternative is to use a primer that you can weld through. That way you get some protection from the primer but you can still do the metal work.
