So, this is what ive got sorted. Got a new starter, turns out its a 250 4.1l (powerglide trans) starter, even though its bolted to an original 3 speed trans... well not so much bolted, let say...attached lol
Replaced the starter, still didnt want to turn over. So, to check and see what the issue was with a fear of the worst (something siezed) I decided to pull all the plugs out, a few were VERY wet with fuel, so i attached my remote start trigger to the new starter, and briefly thought to myself "I should probably not stand right infront of the spark plug holes when I hit the button" I then stepped to the rear of the front fender so I could see the plug holes and hit the button.
Long story short, I didnt step far enough back, the cylinder was completely full of fuel hydrolocking it (hints the broken starter) and I was showered/sprayed in the face with said contents of cylinder.
After the initial shock and rinsing of eye that took the brunt. I covered the head with a big shop rag and turned the motor over a bunch clearing all i could out of the cylinder, put new plugs in it and it roared to life.
Now, I need to figure out how to keep the fuel pump from absolutly flooding my motor, so purchased a fuel regulator and some line to make a return run.
Fingers crossed that this will be the end of that adventure.
