So the way Deve works is, I get as many opinions on what to do as I can find. In this case, Dave and Cosmo thought that pin would just drive right in. Jerry and another fellow from Inliners said there is a very good chance of breaking the engine block. Grigg felt taking it out made the most sense. After sitting on the idea for a few days, Jerry sways it a bit by saying drive it in, but use Heat because its very tight. With the odds now favoring drive it in, I got out the heat, heated the area up, and drove it in!
It's exactly 5/8" in too! No broken engine block, no drilling, but it was VERY VERY TIGHT. I used a long drift punch and a big ball peen hammer after heating. Which is good because at 30psi we don't need leakage.
