I'm getting ready to buy some tools to begin cleaning and painting my frame. I'm blessed this is a California truck so I don't have to deal with near the rust issue to the extent I did in upstate N.Y. This truck has light surface rust/grease /oil etc. The front clip will come off and i'll do the frame back to the fire wall and reinstall the clip. Then remove the bed and do the frame from the cab back then re-install the bed. Then to the body shop where they'll remove the cab and do what I couldn't get to before they do the body and paint. Anything wrong with this plan? I'm thinking of using a 4 1/2" grinder with a wire wheel after I degrease the area I'm working on.
The weight and size appeal to me. Any suggestions from those of you who have done this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
