Which one do you have? If it's the early SM319 from either a Truck or '55-'57 Passenger, it's a direct bolt in, no alterations needed other than making sure the shift arms match and adding the lockout cable and wiring. If it's a later Saginaw based overdrive, they are slightly longer and will require a shorter driveshaft.
