well you still have a problem, I have NEVER experienced that issue in my truck in 35 years. It just goes up to temp and stops, that is it. If you have had several thermostats in 6 years, you have a problem as well. I ran the same thermostat for about 20 years and as far as I know it still works, I just got a new one because I rebuilt the engine.
