I read where you shouldn't run an engine without exhaust due to possibility of cold air being pulled back in the block and bending/cracking something. Seems like a newly rebuilt motor would be more susceptible to this. I'm talking about in the shop, with good ventilation, not running down the road like this. What do you guys think, an old wives tale? Has anyone ever actually had it happen to them?
