I spent about 400 on an Optrel Satelite nice hood unail the battery died and they wanted about 75 percent of purchase price for a new lens piece integrated with the battery.

Bought a cheap Northern Tools which is ok but the head gear was cheap and uncomfortable. Now have a Save Phace which is a decent compromise between cost and function at less than 200 if I recall correctly. If I welded for a living a comfortable 400 dollar hood would be more than worth it.

Hard to tell much difference in the lens darkening mechanisms between the ones I have used and I suspeCT it is duplicate integrated chip circuits that results in close to the same working mechanism.
