I guess I'm gonna be the gloomy gus on this subject. I'm on my second resto and I'm 2 for 2 on having to contend with rolled and brushed on paint. When I told my wife about the subject and how the responces were going I thought she would smack me (she did most of the stripping {huh?} on the first project).If you are going to dip the metal then I can see no problem. If you are going to sand or strip then I just hope it's you who gets to do it. Also it's EXTREMELY important that you prep whatever you're painting over and use the right paint. Then you can just sand till it's smooth. Also I had a MASSIVE orange peel when I first painted part of my '52 GMC (acrylic enamel). It took some time and a bunch of paper but I was able to sand and buff it out. Pictures on my website
