Since I posted the question I looked at some different sources and found many don't carry these but did order a set from LMC. No idea on quality tho. I thought using staples like the original might be better than trying to glue the piece on. Denny, I also have thought of using wire to make replacement staples. Thanks for the pictures and narrative on doing it. I should have gotten these before but didn't notice the things until I started to clean up the mouldings for painting. Thanks Carl and Denny for your help.
