I didn't want to add a filler in the bed because the gas will spill out the filler onto the nice varnished bed sooner or later. I also didn't want to worry about the hose rubbing on the tailgate so I added a Hagan flush mounted filler door to the top of my drivers side rear fender "1950 1/2 ton". Can't see the filler door until you get right up on it and know what your looking for. I'm going to add one on the fender more toward the bed on my brother's 46 #@#! 1/2 ton this spring. I've also cut out several of the early VW flush mounted filler door units to add to my other projects.
