Blocks on the front would be illegal, even then, they would only lower it if the spring was under the axle. You don't mention what year/model truck you have, on 3/4 and 1 tons, and 1/2 tons after '55 2nd, lowering blocks will not work on the rear, either.
Like Marty stated, Sids would be the way to go on the front.
