22 gauge isn't easy to weld for someone who has done a lot of welding. I bought my first wire welder back in the 80's after I had been welding with a stick for about 30 years. An old guy who had been welding longer than I had and also had been using a wire welder longer than I suggested I practice on 14 ga and then work my way down to thinner stuff. I think that was good advice.
