Ok, If I hear you correctly you're saying, if I'm using a 6V fan motor it would be safer to put a
runtz resistor before the switch, which drops the voltage from 12v to 6v.
Why can't I send 12v thru the switch to the 6v fan motor?
What will happen to the fan motor and the switch?
I have a 6 volts starter motor that I send 12v to.
It spins like crazy and works fine.
