I'm not an expert, but I don't think powder-coating was around in 1951, at least for automobile/trucks. The dash paint for 47-53 is a semi-flat, gray-brown, lacquer, with a slight metallic tinge. As far as I know, only the heater used a hammer-finish, and that is more of a brown with a silver or bronze tinge. Both original colors are available from Jim Carter, and probably other suppliers.
