The problem will resolve itself in a few months. Now that it's clean, leave it out in the freezing weather this winter with the windows down whenever the weather permits (not in a snowstorm!) There's something about freezing clean metal that deodorizes it. I've attempted to clean several refrigerators that lost power and ended up with rotten meat inside, and until we turned the thermostat down as low as possible, the stink didn't go away, even after repeated bleach cleanings.
