Don, yes sir. However, I now believe this has nothing to do with the accelerator pump. I just finished rebuilding another carb with the same results. I can drive just fine, but if I tap the gas it stutters, or if I try to accelerate moderatly from a stop or after shifting it stutters. If I really put my foot into it, it backfires through the carb. One more thing is it idles poorly with the idle mixture screw at one and one half turns out. At two and one half turns it idles so SMOOTH!. The same with both carbs. The timeing seems to be right, but I've adjusted it + and - with no improvement.
