I have used both Earl and Macco,reasons being no time or the project was not worthy of a better job.I had my first A.D.painted by Earl.Earls paint seems to oxidize somewhat prematurly.Iwould use them again if i were planning on selling vehicle in the next year and didnt want to invest much time.I also spent a summer working for Earl.The fact is it is a pretty good deal for what you pay,This was the procedure when i worked there-car comes in-gets all parts that can be removed quicker than being masked are removed-compleate 220grit sandjob-chemical cleen(degreaser)-mask yes with newspaper-paint-reassembly.about a 4 hour turnaround.At the time it cost $129.00 I figure even with the very cheapest materials must have been at least 60.00 wholesale.This was a PAINT JOB only,sealer,hardeners for paint,bodywork are all extra.Also let me say that i did see some pretty goodlooking jobs come out of there,the best ones were cars that had been toatly striped prior to coming to shop.Now about 2 years ago i had plymouth neon painted at macco they used a paint called ultraurathane I think,the paint seems to be holding up good but the workmanship was not very good.I got what i paid for.I will do my 53 myself and take my time.If you are satisfied with your body work and dont want to do the final paint you should be allright with one of thease places,also rember thease guys are production shops it will be impossible to get a perfict job out of them.But if you want to do it yourself that 500.00 would buy some pretty higrade paint.Whatever you chose good luck and post some pictures
